Today at breakfast there was a lull in conversation and a contemplative expression stole over Tadhg's face.
"I'm wondering how I'm going to choose a wife. I think I might need to find her in this many days (holding up five fingers)."
Knowing all too well how arbitrary such numbers are at Tadhg's age, I replied, "Oh. So do you need to find her soon, or a while from now?"
"Soon."
We chatted soberly about what Tadhg felt was important in a wife.
Brief pause.
"But, Mama, I might need to borrow your wedding dress for my wife to wear."
Sheesh.
How fast they grow.
"...I think I might need to find her in this many days." :'D Oh, that's great.
