Enoch's Twelve Monthiversary (Better Late Than Never)

I'm so embarrassingly late in returning to this blog that Enoch is now a big brother. And I can't introduce his new sibling until Enoch gets his due.

So VERY belatedly, Enoch is one!!!

(Except now he's actually closer to turning two... It's hard to remember his one-year old self when life is so full of his 21 month old self.)

Somehow the video of his birthday song was recorded in slow motion with no audio (aaahhh! poor boy), so it is sadly missing. But other than that there's a fair smattering of cute little Enoch. The bonus of writing this post so late is knowing that we did indeed survive all those sleepless months of terrible, terrible teething, and YES, he did learn how to sleep through the night at last once the last of his molars finally came in.

Enoch was showing the strength of his personality already at 12 months, but it has since burgeoned and is full of the kind of conviction and force that comes only in toddler packaging. (Does a translation of that sentence means he's a naughtypants? Sometimes, yes. But he's also forceful in his jolliness, forceful in his curiosity, forceful in his loving, forceful in his interest in vehicles and guitars, forceful in all of his becoming. He isn't a gentle brook of a boy; he's more of a waterfall.) He learned to walk at 13 months (a hallmark in this family, apparently). He is dear to us all, dearer now almost 9 months past his first birthday than he was then.

Cobwebby-eyed birthday morning, happy to be family.
