Five Months of Verity Caroline (February 3, 2026)

I've taken all the photos for these monthiversaries right on schedule...and then I haven't posted them. I'm several months behind at this point, but THEY MUST GO UP! The only problem is that my mind is so full of right-now-Verity that it's hard to recollect a-few-months-ago-Verity.

But. I know this about 5-month old Verity.

- She just started giggling. She smiles nonstop, but those giggles are still rare.

- Lots of teething. Drool galore. Spit-up like there's no tomorrow. The first baby to absolutely require drool bibs to prevent 15 outfit changes a day. But no teeth.

- She loves her tongue. (See: teething.)

- She's a professional raspberry-blower.

- She's survived one of the coldest cold snaps we've had in this house since Rundy and I have moved in. She stayed cozy and rosy in lots of snuggly layers and a perpetual pointed elf hat.

- She wants to move but doesn't know how yet.

- She's the chubbiest of our baby girls yet (and she is scrumptious).

- She helped celebrate Grandma Johnson's 79th birthday.

- Everyone in this house loves her to bits.

I had no choice but to do her monthiversary photos in her sweater dress and elf hat, because that's quintessential Verity this month. Cute, snuggly, all bundled up.

(But before all the layers went on I had to admire her squishy self a bit.)

A bit of life with the merry band in January and the beginning of February:

Marnie's birthday date required full regalia, completely self-chosen from head to toe. (Tessa dressed up fancy, too, even though it was Marnie's date--perks.)

Peregrine the tailor. (Thanks, Titi!)

The boy loves guitars. (At mealtimes, he plays his fork.)

In fact, he loves ALL music. This is a routine of his:

A little birthday celebration for a little Grandma.

For Aunt Abigail, in particular.

Expert guitarist.

Expert diaper changer.

Admiring Daddy's new reading glasses.
