Big Machines

We had an extra generous helping of large vehicles stop at our house in the month of June. A dump truck to drop off a load of wood chips. A log loader to drop off a load of logs. And an even bigger dump truck to drop off gravel for the Big Basement Project (more on that to come).

The gravel drop-off warranted some hardcore spectating (from every angle in rapid succession).

Funny dumpling.

There was a hitch in the process which gave us a much longer length of time to enjoy the excitement. The location of the dump site at a higher elevation necessitated the hydraulic arm's full extension, but the driver didn't have enough hydraulic fluid and had to go fetch some more with Rundy mid-dump.

Hence, snacks.

(It's never a bad time for snacks. But especially not while spectating.)

Intermission over.

We found a better view up on the hill when the truck dumped a second pile in a second location.

Tadhg found his courage and ventured closer...

...but Pippin was a bit worried, so he hid behind me and fiddled with my ponytail.

Every day is a grand adventure at their age. (But especially when thrilling-terrifying-wonderful machines come to your house.)
